u3a in Kennet was formed following a public meeting in the Wesley Hall in Marlborough on 25th March 1992. It was officially recognised by the national U3A Trust on 15th May 1992.
By March 1993 there were over 120 members and 19 interest groups. To mark the anniversary, we are publishing a short history of u3a in Kennet compiled by Allan Skipper.
